Call for Creative Writing Pieces and Interviews

2018-07-20
The contemporary world is undergoing a period of accelerated change which can be attributed to a number of different developments: technological advances, the ubiquity of social media and smartphones, the acceleration of global warming and the resultant environmental disasters, and major political upheavals such as Brexit and the growth of white nationalist movements across the globe. These and other changes create constantly shifting and unstable contemporary environments. In this climate of economic, political and environmental uncertainty, it is important to address the impact on and outcomes of these and other major changes in our contemporary world. Besides the usual call for articles, book reviews and academic reports, Aigne is looking for creative writingpieces that relate to this issue’s theme (4,000 word maximum). Aigne(‘Mind’) is a peer-reviewed online postgraduate journal that falls underthe auspices of the Graduate School of the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences at University College Cork, Cork, Ireland. The deadline for creative submissions is the 31st of August, 2018, 5pm. Please submit manuscripts by emailing aigne@ucc.ie. To be considered for publication, all papers must adhere to Aigne’s Author Guidelines (http://aigne.ucc.ie/about/submissions#authorGuidelines) and be thoroughly proofread prior to submission. All queries may be directed to Editors-in-Chief, Caroline Schroeter and Loretta Goff, at aigne@ucc.ie. Authors will be notified of the editors’ decisions early September. Expected publication is Winter 2018. Sincerely, The Aigne Editors
